Who we are.
Solihull College & University Centre is a large general further education college situated in Solihull in the West Midlands. It has three sites, in central Solihull, in north Solihull at Smith’s Wood and in Stratford-upon-Avon. The merger between Solihull College & University Centre and Stratford-upon-Avon College in February 2018 was seen as one of the best managed in the country.
We have over 10,000 students and a core population of 16–18-year-olds, the majority of which come from Birmingham and the West Midlands. We offer a diverse provision across A levels, T levels, apprenticeships and higher education, providing excellent pathways for all our students.
About the role.
We now seek a new Governor to join us in our mission to be a reflective and progressive organisation that supports and inspires everyone to succeed. This new Governor will have experience and expertise in curriculum, quality, apprenticeships and further education.
Who we are looking for.
As we look to further strengthen our Board, we now seek to engage a new Governor with experience and expertise across curriculum and quality, student experience, apprenticeships and further education.
The successful candidate will have a passion for education, be committed to the College and its values, and understand the importance of education to all learners and the wider community.
Whilst previous governance experience is welcomed, it is not essential. All new Governors will be supported by our Director of Corporate Governance Risk and Compliance, Sam Bromwich, with a comprehensive induction and training process and ongoing support thereafter.
