Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Engineering Senior Lecturer to join our academic team (college) and support the Curriculum Manager. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education. This position requires strong people skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging teaching sessions and practical sessions on engineering topics.
- Develop and update course materials to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards.
- Mentor and support students in their academic pursuits, providing guidance on projects and assessments.
- Conduct research in the field of engineering, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings and other administrative duties as required.
- Maintain an organised approach to teaching.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Engineering or a closely related field (Minimum Level 3) - Essential
- Teaching Qualification or be willing to work towards - Desirable
- Maths and English - Level 2 or equivalent - Essential
- Experience in some areas such as CNC, PLC, CAD, Robotics, Machinist, Electrical, welding
- A passion for teaching and a can do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in IT tools and platforms used for educational purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, fostering a positive learning environment for students.
- A passion for educating others and a commitment to student success.
