We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for Learning Support Practitioner-Horizons to join our Horizons team. You will join us on a term-time only basis (38 weeks per year), and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £24,853-£26,882 pa inc London Weighting (to be pro rata'd to contracted hours, 38wpy) The Learning Support Practitioner-Horizons (LSP) role: To provide 1:1, shared in class and group support to learners with Mild, moderate and complex needs within the Horizons Department. Key Responsibilities of our LSP: To work under the supervision and guidance of the tutor with students with mild/moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities within the Horizons area To work with the ALS Manager, LSP& EHCP Coordinator, Lead LSPs and SENCO in advising teaching staff on appropriate strategies for working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities and complex needs To provide one-to-one and group support, both direct and indirect, for students with learning difficulties and disabilities following foundation courses, primarily in the learning environment Our ideal LSP should have the following qualifications, skills and experience: A level 2 or above qualification or equivalent in relevant subject area. Proficient IT skills Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent Experience of providing effective coaching for students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support success and progression Demonstrate an ability to support, monitor and track the learner progress including attendance, behaviour, and completion of vocational activity Understanding of academic and vocational education in a College setting.
